Lin Xiaoman, a socially anxious screenwriter of sweet romance dramas, hides in her friend's empty apartment to escape marriage pressure—only to meet Gu Chengchuan, a top talent agent taking refuge from paparazzi. The two "unauthorized residents" are forced to live together. They start by complaining: Gu finds Lin "too dull", Lin thinks Gu "too noisy". But as Gu helps Lin overcome her anxiety to write a hit script, and Lin reminds Gu of his original passion for fighting for his artists, the two who once wanted to "stay out of each other's way" gradually become the most "unwilling to be disturbed" presence in each other's lives.
