Lin Xiaoman, a socially anxious screenwriter of sweet romance dramas, hides in her friend's empty apartment to escape marriage pressure—only to meet Gu Chengchuan, a top talent agent taking refuge from paparazzi. The two "unauthorized residents" are forced to live together. They start by complaining: Gu finds Lin "too dull", Lin thinks Gu "too noisy".
