During a catastrophic drought, poor scholar Chen Mo's wife Su Wan faints from starvation in a dilapidated temple. Just as he's about to lose hope, he binds to the "Two Realms Food Luck System"—which lets him travel to the modern world to work at a breakfast shop and earn steamed buns, then bring them back to the ancient world where food is scarce. Worse, the village landlord Zhou has his eye on Su Wan—planning to take her as collateral for Chen Mo's unpaid grain debt. For his wife, Chen Mo endures being called a "country bumpkin" by kids and scolded by his boss—until a miracle: the modern buns turn into "spiritual food" in the ancient world, allowing Su Wan to get out of bed! But the system upgrades with a new mission: he needs 999 "sincere buns" (given voluntarily by modern customers touched by his love) to fully cure Su Wan's chronic illness. Will he make it in time? And how will Landlord Zhou's schemes derail his efforts?
