Lin Xiaoman, a modern archaeology student, accidentally activates an ancient *Liao Zhai* scroll and gains the Wan Hun Fan—a banner that can absorb vengeful souls. Forced into the bizarre world of *Liao Zhai*, she saves A Ruan, a female ghost murdered by a tyrant. But she soon finds that every soul the banner takes costs her a piece of her own. To her shock, A Ruan is the reincarnation of a goddess who sacrificed herself to seal the banner a millennium ago—and a centuries-old obsession hidden in the scroll is pulling the strings. When salvation becomes self-destruction and past-life grudges haunt the present, can Lin Xiaoman survive while uncovering the truth for the wronged souls?
