Antique restorer Su Wan receives a half-piece of "Kylin Toe Jade Pendant" left by her grandfather, only to be tracked down by Gu Shen, a腹黑 (scheming) auction house boss—he has the other half and claims that combining them can break the Gu family's curse of "only one heir per generation, hard to keep descendants". But Su Wan soon discovers that Gu Shen approached her to investigate the old grudge of her grandfather "cheating the jade pendant" years ago! As they outwit each other for the pendant, they uncover the truth through restoring cultural relics: her grandfather hid the jade to protect the Gu family from antique traffickers. When Gu Shen lets go of hatred and tries to confess his love, the traffickers suddenly appear to steal the pendant. Su Wan is injured protecting Gu Shen, and the jade emits a warm light—turns out, "Kylin's Toes Bring Good Fortune" never meant praying for descendants, but "those who guard their true hearts will gain peace".
