Rebellious city girl Su Qian wakes up in 1995, trapped in the body of her young mother—a meek seamstress bullied by in-laws. Furious at her mother's apparent weakness, Su Qian storms into confrontations only to discover haunting truths: the college spot her mother sacrificed paid for Su Qian's childhood surgery, and every endured insult shielded her from abandonment. Armed with a hidden diary and modern grit, she vows to rewrite her mother's fate. But as she dismantles oppressive traditions with razor-sharp wit, the real mother inhabiting Su Qian's 21st-century life begins unraveling her own daughter's buried trauma across time.
