Su Wan runs an old tavern in a southern Chinese alley, where she treasures her ancestral glazed wine bell. She only uses it for late-night solitary drinks, otherwise serving customers with plain porcelain bowls. One day, a down-on-his-luck scholar enters the tavern with a wine pouch, pulling out a half plum-carved amber wine token and asking to borrow the glazed bell to warm his wine. The token is exactly the same as the one her long-lost childhood sweetheart left a decade ago, stirring up long-buried misunderstandings and yearning.
