Three years ago, Su Wan, a general’s daughter, saw her family wrongfully executed for treason. She survived as a fugitive, took the alias Shen Zhaozhao, and snuck into the capital to avenge herself on Gu Tingshen—the son of the grand tutor who framed her family, now the powerful Northern Marquis. But when she stood in the Marquis Mansion’s wedding hall, Gu Tingshen handed her a contract: “Be my wife, and I’ll clear your family’s name.” Torn between her burning desire for revenge and Gu’s ambiguous tenderness—he blocked an assassin’s sword for her at night, his eyes filled with pain when uncovering old letters—Su Wan doubted: Was this man her enemy, or a fellow fighter in the dark? When the empress consort’s plot to seize power was exposed, Su Wan raised her sword against the real culprit, only for Gu to hold her hand: “I was never your foe. I’m the one who wants to stand with you in the dawn.” As sunset faded into dawn, their contractual marriage bloomed into true love—witnessing their vengeance, their healing, and the bloom of their youth.
