Lin Xiaoman, an overworked office drone, finds a moldy salted fish left by her late mother and activates the "Salted Fish Turnaround System"—she must fulfill her mom's unfulfilled wishes (like "eating a hot meal cooked by my daughter" or "finding the old friend who sold fish with me") to unlock rewards. She goes from a lazy slacker to a hardworking go-getter: getting splattered with oil while learning to make salted fish congee at dawn, mistaking the cold CEO Gu Shen for a "fish stall heir" when searching for the old friend, and uncovering why her mom gave up being a chef. Amidst the chaos of completing tasks, she and Gu Shen go from rivals to sweethearts. In her turnaround, she realizes: the love her mom hid in the salted fish is teaching her to love herself well.
