After blind Ah Xiu married her "foolish" brother-in-law Ah Lin, they became easy targets in the village—their fields seized, livestock stolen, and even their only shabby hut nearly demolished by vicious neighbors. Until that day, Ah Lin rushed into the village's "forbidden river" to save the drowning Ah Xiu, fishing out a mysterious jade plaque that could "hear people's hearts" and unexpectedly awakening Ah Xiu's talent to "feel the truth". From then on, "foolish" Ah Lin could detect lies, and blind Ah Xiu could feel forged land deeds. They cleared the name of a wronged widow, exposed the landlord's land fraud, and even found the village child missing for ten years. When villagers went from mocking to revering them, they discovered the ancient secret of "Spring Water Ferry" in the jade plaque—Ah Lin's "foolishness" was a seal protecting him, Ah Xiu's blindness a talent waiting to be unlocked, and their meeting was the fate that "Spring Water" was meant to ferry.
