In Paris, the art capital, ballet dancer Lin Xiaoyu meets performance painter Lu Chen through a spontaneous street performance. Lu Chen's paintings always feature burning roses, and Xiaoyu discovers that the flames in his works are identical to the fire that burned down her dance studio in her memory. As the two grow closer while collaborating on a creation, the truth behind the flames begins to hurt—Lu Chen was a witness to the fire, and Xiaoyu's amnesia about the accident is his刻意 (deliberate) hidden guilt. On stage, as Xiaoyu spins in a ballet dress adorned with flame decorations, Lu Chen suddenly sets the canvas on fire and screams out his regret for failing to save her that year. In the flames, the rose-embroidered dance dress is burned with cracks, which unexpectedly form the pattern of a phoenix spreading its wings. The two finally learn to rebuild their bond with honesty instead of guilt from the ashes of their pain.
