After ending a draining toxic relationship, socially anxious Lin Xia moves into a new apartment and isolates herself from everyone around her. One stormy night, faint, intermittent knocks echo through her door. Hesitating repeatedly while gripping the doorknob, she finally summons the courage to open it, only to find a lost little girl An An and her unconscious father — who turns out to be the stranger who saved her life in a car crash years ago. Lin Xia takes care of An An and contacts the hospital urgently, saving the father as well as breaking down her own emotional barriers, rediscovering long-lost warmth and the courage to face life right beyond that door.
