Lin Xiaoman, a planetarium star chart restorer, follows her late grandma's wish to find the "star that fell into dreams". She accidentally wakes Shen Xingyao, a Republican-era astronomer trapped for a century by his obsession to save his dying lover, from an anonymous star chart. As they restore it, Xiaoman discovers she's the lover's reincarnation—but Shen's redemption holds a fatal paradox: completing the chart will send him back to vanish, while staying dooms him to fade from temporal dislocation.
