Retired librarian Lin Wanzhao stumbles into veteran Zhou Mingyuan's corner café while searching for her late husband's relic, *Jane Eyre*. Their reunion uncovers a 40-year-old farm memory—18-year-old Lin once gave a steamed bun to the persecuted Zhou, and Zhou secretly kept her poems. Now, Lin fears loving again after loss, Zhou guilt-ridden over his late wife, and both face their children's suspicion of "gold-digging." When Lin mends Zhou's late wife's old sweater, and Zhou restores her husband's vintage phonograph, the two finally hold hands at dusk: "This time, we won't get lost."
