Graduate student Lin Xiaoman travels to a remote village to research folklore for her thesis, stumbling upon a tattered manuscript detailing century-old supernatural legends. As she investigates, villagers begin dying under circumstances eerily matching the cursed descriptions. When photographer Lu Yuan insists on accompanying her, the duo uncovers a web of living lies—each folk horror tale was fabricated to conceal very human crimes. Their pursuit of truth unravels a dark secret someone will kill to keep buried.
