Su Wan, an ancient book restorer, guards her grandfather’s legacy—**Hibiscus Study**, where a century-old hibiscus tree stands as the last landmark of the old neighborhood. It also holds a secret: a childhood playmate who once hid from the rain here, listening to her read *Ode to Hibiscus*, and promising, "I’ll come back to protect you." Ten years later, that boy returns as Gu Yan, a cold architect with a demolition plan. Between her grandfather’s dying wish to save the tree and Gu’s belief in urban renewal, they clash—until they rediscover the old note in the hibiscus hollow, the preserved flower标本 from their childhood, and the *Ode to Hibiscus* Gu has kept for a decade. On the eve of the demolition order, Gu pulls out a revised blueprint: the Hibiscus Study will be the heart of the new business district, encased in a glass dome—and the old tree will stand forever in the neon lights, watching them reunite, just like before.
