Thirty-year-old Mu Yan suffers two devastating blows—her five-year boyfriend cheats on her with her best friend, and she’s fired on her promotion day for taking a colleague’s blame. Crying outside an old alley antique store, she receives a notebook with her name from the owner. The first page has a “courage task list” from her 18-year-old self: refuse to take the blame, join the painting competition she gave up a decade ago, and confront her scumbag ex. During this, she stumbles into the studio of Lin Chuan, a sarcastic designer who teases her for “not even holding a paintbrush properly” but secretly retrieves her paint tools discarded by her ex. When the last task is done, a photo of 18-year-old Mu Yan falls out of the notebook, with a note on the back: “You’ve always had the courage to start over.” Then Lin Chuan hands her an art exhibition invitation and says: “Hey, the new Mu Yan—want to go see your paintings together?”
