Lin Yanan, a descendant of the Lin clan from Surabaya, Nanyang, returns to her long-abandoned ancestral house to sort through her grandfather’s belongings, only to accidentally discover a decades-old wooden box. Inside are her grandfather’s love letters to Dutch expat Alice, a half-completed map of the Nanyang shipping routes, and undercurrents of conflict over the family’s assets. As the clues in the yellowing papers are gradually unveiled, a dust-covered old story spanning nationalities and prejudices comes to light. In the end, Lin Yanan finds not only the courage to reconcile but also her own life direction while safeguarding the family’s glory.
