Lin Xiaoman, a workplace rookie, tries every means to approach Lu Jingshen, the icy CEO of Lu's Group, for a cooperation deal—waiting outside his company with custom coffee (rejected), picking up his documents (mistaken for a runner), bringing hot congee for his overtime (polite refusal). Just as she’s about to give up, things take a turn: Lu not only clears her name from a frame-up but also waits outside her apartment with warm taro buns every morning and shields her from alcohol at a banquet. When Lin asks why, Lu takes out a faded photo of her handing an umbrella to a soaked boy three years ago: “I’ve looked for you for three years. Now it’s my turn to chase you.”
