Old Zhou, who’s run a hand-made noodle stall for thirty years, was having his last bowl of noodles before closing one morning when he saw a mother and son crouching by the road—the mother clutched a leukemia diagnosis paper, crying that she’d take her son to jump into the river. Old Zhou threw down his bowl and rushed over, giving her all the money he’d saved for half a month and promising to help contact the hospital. But three days later, Mrs. Lin, a top business matriarch, arrived in a luxury car, hugging Old Zhou and crying: “The people you saved are my son who’s been missing for twenty years!” It turned out the mother and son had just been matched via DNA for a family search, and Old Zhou’s kindness had reunited the rich family. Mrs. Lin offered a villa as a reward, but Old Zhou scratched his head and smiled: “I just can’t bear to see people take the extreme way—I don’t need any repayment.”
