Jiang Yao, a palace maid born without taste, only wants to save money to leave the palace for a normal life. But she accidentally kisses Emperor Li Ruoxun while delivering dishes—this kiss not only restores her sense of taste (she finally tastes the sweetness of lotus seed soup!) but also brings a terrifying surprise: when Li Ruoxun is scratched by an assassin, the same wound appears on her palm! It turns out they are fated to share pain and taste due to a past-life bond. Jiang Yao tries to escape, but every time she packs, Li Ruoxun pinches his arm to make her wince; yet when she's bullied by the kitchen aunt, he secretly gives her jujubes. Is this unbreakable bond a trick of fate, or a predestined love?
