Su Wan, owner of the "Gui Xu Ju" homestay in an ancient town, has waited five years for her missing brother. On Jingzhe (Awakening of Insects), painter Lin Du—looking for the "girl" who saved him years ago—rents her top-floor studio. They grow close over morning tea in mist and starlit terraces, and Su Wan thinks the spring breeze has finally warmed her heart. Until Lin Du shows an old photo: the "girl" is her brother. It turns out her brother pushed Lin Du out of a car's path years ago, giving up his own life. When the truth emerges, the spring breeze still blows, but the two lovers become the most painful "passers-by" in each other's lives.
