Su Wan, a genius modern perfumer, travels alone to Qingyan Ancient City to decode the incomplete recipe of "Ni Xiang" (Reversed Fragrance), a family heirloom. She checks into the century-old "Guixu Inn", where the owner Gu Zhao is cold and distant but always rescues her from danger—whether it’s the shadowy pursuit in the late-night alley, the yellowed manuscript hidden in the temple wall, or the armored general recurring in her dreams, all clues tie to their past-life bond: In a previous life, she was the perfumer guarding "Ni Xiang", and he was the garrison general who died taking an assassin’s blade for her, their unspoken love cut short by his death. Reunited in this life, they face cultural relic traffickers’ pursuit and the secrets of the ancient city’s ruins—needing to uncover the truth of their past deaths while protecting "Ni Xiang" from being stolen. As past memories piece together, can they mend their century-old regret and hold onto this time-crossing fate?
