Lin Yan, a "Fireworks Keeper" hiding in the city, guards the warmth of human life from evil spirits—until New Year's Eve, when a thousand-year-old Nian Beast returns with a "Fate-Breaking Curse" to devour the scent of hot porridge in alleys and the glow of lanterns on windowsills. Exhausted and near defeat, she stumbles into Chen Mo, a deliveryman who can break the curse—this boy, her secret high school crush for a decade, carries the "Human Fire" that sealed the Nian Beast years ago. As they flee the beast and rediscover love over delivering ginger tea and pasting couplets, the curse erodes Lin Yan's memories. Chen Mo even risks burning his own "fire" to save her… Turns out, the deadliest curse can never beat the truth of "I want to protect you."
