Lin Xiaoman, a burnt-out corporate worker, returns to her grandma's grocery store in Warm Alley after a career breakdown, planning to just “exist”. But she clashes with Zhou Bo, the “old-fashioned” carpenter next door—he strongly opposes her replacing the old sign left by her grandma. It’s not until she finds her grandma’s diary that she learns Zhou Bo was her grandma’s “woodworking partner” years ago: they designed the sign together but missed confessing due to Zhou’s timidity. Xiaoman decides to help Zhou finish the “four-season wooden window” he never completed. Along the way, the candy-selling granny, the entrepreneurial couple, and a stray cat all become “allies”. On the day the window is installed, Zhou takes out osmanthus cake hidden for thirty years. Xiaoman suddenly realizes: Warm Alley isn’t a house—it’s a group of people who’ve stitched their hearts into a home.
