In the 1980s, Lin Mo, a lame hunter at Changbai Mountain, lives a tough but stable life with his young daughter. When the girl falls gravely ill, a village bully forces Lin to surrender his ancestral mountain contract to pay a fake debt, or take the child. In despair, Lin awakens dormant supernatural power and reunites with his hermit alchemist father. Together, they subdue a fierce wolf king, refine life-saving pills, defeat the bully, and start an uprising to reverse fate, guarding their family on Changbai Mountain.
