Lin Xiaoman, a "dandelion girl" raised in a small town, receives a box of yellowed dandelion specimens from her grandmother on her deathbed, who says, "Find your mom—she’s like a dandelion, gone with the wind." To search for her mother, she takes the specimens to the big city, accidentally offending Chen Mo, a cold-faced professor specializing in dandelion research—his lab happens to hold an "eternal dandelion" identical to Xiaoman’s specimen.
