Detective Lin Shen has been tracking a serial dismemberment case for three years, with all victims bearing a mysterious fork-shaped scar—the exact mark his missing girlfriend Su Xiao had on her wrist. When he finds a metal plate engraved with his name at the crime scene, the message on the back hits him like a thunderbolt: "Your girlfriend has died three times in my universe, and she's next." It turns out the killer is from a parallel universe, able to travel through "time rifts" to commit murders and even manipulate another "Lin Shen" as an accomplice. Lin Shen must race against the time difference between the two universes: he has to stop the killer from "correcting" his life and uncover the truth about Su Xiao's disappearance—yet he has no idea that he's already trapped in a "slaughter loop across parallel timelines," every step leading him deeper into a trap set by his other self.
