Lin Chuan, heir to a reclusive medical clan, descends the mountain to stay with his distant aunt in the city. When his aunt's family sees him in rough clothes and an old cloth bag, they dismiss him as a "poor relative" come to mooch, speaking coldly and forcing him to sleep on the balcony floor. But when his cousin suddenly falls gravely ill with溃烂 skin and the hospital issues a death notice, his desperate aunt turns to Lin Chuan. He takes out a family-heirloom silver needle and pricks his cousin's forehead—and in less than half an hour, she wakes up! At that moment, his uncle, who once scorned his shabbiness, pales instantly—for that needle is the "Xuanyang Needle," lost for thirty years, and Lin Chuan is the legendary "Young Divine Doctor" of the clan, capable of reviving the dying!
