Lin Mo, a white-collar working hard in a foreign city, is charged rent by his own mother on a daily basis like a harsh landlord. He once felt wronged that he was being squeezed by his own mother and alienated from her. Until his father suddenly falls critically ill and needs a huge sum of surgery fee. He rummages through the old piggy bank his mother gave him in childhood to raise money, and surprisingly finds that it is filled with the "rent" his mother saved by living frugally, along with his father's medical records and receipts of his mother working three jobs. It turns out that his mother's "rent collection" is a test hiding her doting love. She was afraid he would degenerate into ease, so she used "cruelty" to force him to learn to be independent, and all the "indifference" is filled with heavy love.
