In an old book楼 in Chang'an, Ah Zhao, a girl who guards the楼, uses a green lamp carved with twisted branch patterns every night to illuminate ancient books——this is the only keepsake she had when she was abandoned in front of the楼 as an infant. One morning, a white-clad少年 lies in front of the楼, holding a half-burned copy of *Records of Old Dust*. When he wakes up, he only murmurs, "The green lamp led me here," but remembers nothing about himself. As the少年's fragmented memories return, Ah Zhao is shocked to discover that the green lamp hides a past-life karmic bond: he was originally the book spirit guarding the book楼, and a hundred years ago, he dissipated his soul to save her from the heavenly court's punishment; while she was a little immortal official who was erased of memories and banished to the mortal world.
