Lin Wan, an ancient book restorer, guards her grandmother's old bookstore, keeping company with the chilly moonlight every night. Until Gu Zhao, an amnesiac man, bursts in, saying he's looking for a "book hidden in the moonlight"—exactly the unfinished *Moonlight Chronicle* left by her grandmother. Inside the book is a yellowed note with her grandmother's unkept promise to her lover: "Next full moon, I'll wait for you." What's more coincidental is that Gu Zhao looks exactly like the man in a Republic-era long gown Lin Wan dreams of every night. In the chilly moonlight, a seventy-year-old regret awakens. As they piece together the truth of the past for her grandmother, they find their fates have long been tied by the moonlight. Will the moon that witnessed her grandmother's youth also shed light on their love?
