Lin Yang, a delivery man, encountered a rainstorm while delivering orders in the early morning. He took shelter in a dilapidated temple in an old alley, touched a bronze mirror on the offering table, and accidentally transmigrated to the harem of an overhead dynasty. When he woke up, he found himself lying on a dragon bed, with Empress Murong Shuang in a dragon robe pressing on him—she called him "Azhao" with red eyes, saying he was the first love she had been searching for three years. Lin Yang waved his hands in panic: "I'm just a poor delivery guy, not Azhao!" But Murong Shuang issued an edict to make him the "Imperial Man" and trapped him in the harem: she made him sit with her in court, had the imperial kitchen cook only his favorite dishes, and even dismissed all male concubines for him. Lin Yang complained about the empress's overbearingness, but gradually fell for her—through the ginger tea she secretly brewed and the cloak she covered him with on rainy nights. Until one day, a man in white who looked exactly like him broke into the palace and shouted "Shuang'er" at Murong Shuang. Lin Yang panicked: was he a substitute, or a past-life lover?
