A poor young man, whose family is destitute, ventures alone into the Forbidden Black Mountain full of mythical beasts to find ginseng for his sick grandma's surgery fee, ignoring villagers' dissuasion. A rich dandy not only makes things difficult for him but also mocks him as a dying pauper, vowing to seize all treasures he finds. Unexpectedly, he finds a yellowed diary left by his grandpa, which records the coordinates of rare herbs, ways to crack traps and formation, and protective secrets! With the diary, he avoids perils, gathers tons of rare herbs, returns safely, and slaps the dandy in public, completely turning his life around.
