Lin Chuan is a "hopeless poor guy" in the neighbors' eyes. He and his fiancée Su Xiaoyu, who have been in love for three years, live in a 10-square-meter rental house to save for the bride price. But Su Xiaoyu, for a debut opportunity, turns to Chen Chao, a fat and rich playboy, and even throws the couple's ring he gave her on the ground in public: "How dare a poor ghost talk about the future?" Little does she know, Lin Chuan has a secret—he is "Dark Feather," the top masked singer who's popular all over the Internet! That night, Chen Chao takes Su Xiaoyu to a bar to "humiliate" him and forces him to "sing a poor guy's song for fun." Lin Chuan sits at the piano, creates the divine song "Breaking Cocoon" in one minute with his flying fingers, and when he takes off his mask, the bar screen suddenly cuts to the live broadcast of him winning the masked singer championship last week! The brokerage company boss scrambles to hand him a contract, the real estate tycoon's daughter holds her phone to add his WeChat, Su Xiaoyu looks at Lin Chuan surrounded by people, remembers throwing his songs as "waste paper" into the trash can, digs her nails into her palm and cries begging for reconciliation, but Lin Chuan just smiles and hands over a wedding invitation: "I'm marrying diva Jiang Wan next weekend, will you come to the wedding?"
