A severe winter drought strikes a mountain village, leaving the whole village without water and plunging into desperation. Young forest ranger Lin Ye, despite villagers' dissuasion, relies on his ancestral water-finding instinct, digs a 17-meter-deep pit in the dry riverbed and chisels out a spring with his bare hands. From the courage to survive in despair to revitalizing the village with the living water, he leads villagers to develop ecological agriculture and characteristic industries, rises to a well-off leader, ignites the villagers, and reveals his identity as a descendant of water-finding experts, writing a thrilling legend of grassroots counterattack from desperation.
