Down-and-out cartoonist Lin Yang raises his 5-year-old daughter Xiaotang alone, scraping by with children's picture books—until his former boss plagiarizes his work, trapping him in a copyright dead end. One day, Xiaotang digs out her late mom's old paintbrush and begs for a "glowing star candy"—Lin Yang draws it reluctantly, only to see the candy turn into a sparkly, sweet crystal!
