Lin Chuan, a bottom-tier slacker at an investment bank, gets by with “slacker-style research” every day—until he stumbles on a conspiracy: his company’s executives are colluding with Wall Street tycoons to short a hometown enterprise. To save the small-town factory where his father worked (and win back Su Xiao, the financial analyst who rejected him for “lacking ambition”), Lin uses the “unorthodox” knowledge he picked up while slacking off to launch a “slacker-style sniper attack”—reverse-exploiting the tycoons’ loopholes and rallying retail investors to fight back. Along the way, he exposes capital’s dark secrets, transforms from a “layabout loser” to a “Wall Street nemesis,” and finally holds onto his original heart while winning the girl.
