Lin Shen, the last heir of the hermit medical sect 'Xuan Yao Zong', holds the formula for 'Tai Xuan True Medicine'—a remedy that can cure all poisons. He enters the mortal world under a pseudonym as a junior researcher at a pharmaceutical company to investigate the truth behind his sect's annihilation. In an accident, he uses the true medicine to save Su Wan, a wealthy heiress hunted by enemies, only to discover she's been sent by a mastermind to steal the formula—fabricating a fake story that Su Wan is the orphan girl he saved years ago. When Lin Shen exposes the scam, the mastermind threatens him with clues about the sect's destruction. However, Su Wan has already developed real feelings for him during their time together. Torn between his obsession with revenge and his wavering affection for Su Wan, Lin Shen must choose between 'true medicine' and 'fake affection' while uncovering the fantasy conspiracy hidden behind the pharmaceutical industry.
