Chinese designer Lin Xiao living in Fusang returns to her ancestral hometown Ningbo to fulfill her late grandfather's final wish, carrying a yellowed old photo of her young grandfather standing beside a cheongsam-clad woman under the rising sun. During her journey, she meets Chen Yang, a young man guarding a century-old family mansion. The pair uncovers a decades-old secret: her grandfather and the woman once risked their lives to protect precious ancient books but were separated by war, sowing misunderstanding between their families. Lin Xiao must not only donate the books to the country as her grandfather wished but also heal the generational rift, rediscovering long-lost patriotism and long-overlooked romance on the eastern land.
