Han Leyao, an orphanage-raised nurse, wraps her childhood pain in a smile and becomes a “little sun” who brightens everyone around her. But she hits a wall with Zhao Zhendong, a lonely tough guy from the slums—he wears indifference like armor and shuns her care at every turn. Until an accident reveals his secret: he’s been working himself ragged to pay for his orphaned brother’s medical bills, yet his inferiority keeps him from approaching the light. Instead of backing down, Han squats down, takes his calloused hand, and says, “My light wants to shine into your shadows too.” From secretly caring for his brother to helping him face his childhood trauma, Han uses her gentle persistence to finally pull this man—who’s used to hiding in the dark—into the sunshine that belongs to both of them.
