Lin Xiaoman runs "Three Cups Tavern", a small inn left by her grandmother, living a life as mild as warm rice wine. Until one late night, a drunk Gu Yan bursts in—with an unfinished white plum tattoo oozing blood on his neck—claiming to be a "memory-lost tattoo artist" searching for a "guest who can wake his memories". As Gu Yan stays to help, he surprises Xiaoman by making her grandmother's secret osmanthus wine, and often zones out staring at her grandma's 20-year-old photo—where her grandma has the exact same white plum on her neck. When the third cup of osmanthus wine is poured, an old pocket watch falls from Gu Yan's pocket, revealing a photo inside: it's her grandma and a younger him, standing under the old "Three Cups" sign, grinning with dimples.
