Lin Xiaoman, a white-collar worker in a first-tier city, returns to her remote mountain village after her grandmother's death, only to face her grandmother's last wish—reviving the 30-year-lost "Dragon Raises Its Head" dragon dance. Young people find it outdated, the village head opposes it for safety, and even A Lin, her childhood dragon dance partner (now a village doctor), advises her to give up. Until she finds her grandfather's diary: 30 years ago, her grandfather missed the dance to save the drowning village head, who has hidden the dragon head in guilt ever since. Finally, the village head brings the dragon head, A Lin calls back young workers, and as the dragon lantern lights up, Xiaoman understands her grandmother's words: "Dragon Raises Its Head is about pulling scattered hearts back home."
