Zhang Shouyi runs a tiny sesame cake shop in a Beijing alley. Locals see him only as an honest, hardworking craftsman who starts his day early kneading dough and baking cakes. Everything changes when a gang of thugs arrives to extort protection money and destroy his shop. Zhang takes them down with just a few fluid moves, exposing his hidden extraordinary fighting skills. It turns out he was a retired kung fu champion who left the arena after his wife's death to guard the cake shop she left him. Now his old arch enemy has learned he's alive and comes to seek revenge, threatening to upend his quiet life.
