Village teen Acui is dismissed as a lazy good-for-nothing by her fellow villagers, who often spot her squatting on field ridges fiddling with grass blades and doing what they see as useless calculations. In truth, she is a secret disciple of a renowned fortune teller. When cattle plague, grain shortages and a missing young master befall the village, Acui steps forward with her precise divination and kind-heartedness to resolve every crisis. She silences the gossipmongers, wins widespread respect and finally finds her own place in the rural community.
