Time Sends a Farewell Letter

30-year-old Lin Xiaoman is still trapped in the grief of her husband Gu Shen’s death three years ago—she keeps his coffee cup, says goodnight to the empty sofa every day, until one day a farewell letter marked “Sent by Time” appears in her mailbox, in Gu Shen’s handwriting. In the final letter, Gu Shen writes: “I never wanted you to be stuck in memories. Those unsaid ‘I love you’s have become the wind, the sea, and the sunlight in your hair when you smile.” Sitting under the lighthouse with the letter, Lin Xiaoman says “I’m okay” to the sea breeze for the first time—turns out the letter from time isn’t a farewell, but the courage Gu Shen saved with his life, letting her live again.
