Lin Xiaoman has been trapped in the fog of depression for a decade, a snail缩回ing into its shell, bristling at any hint of "salvation"—until Gu Chuan, an intern psychiatrist, moves in next door. He insists on breaking through her facade: morning congee that ruins her "I don’t want to eat," hallway lights at midnight that expose her "I’m not afraid," even sketchbooks filled with the eyelashes she flicks when zoning out. Just as Lin Xiaoman finally dares to touch the sunflower he hands her, Gu Chuan vanishes without a trace, leaving only a coffee-stained note: "I cured your illness, but you’re my medicine." It turns out the man who fought so hard to pull her out of the abyss had fallen into the same darkness because of her ten years ago—his "treatment" was never a job; it was a reverse salvation, staked with his entire life.
