Office worker Lin Xiaoman moves in with a 'divine roommate' Gu Xingyao—he can grant any of her wishes with a snap, but only in exchange for 'ridiculous tasks': getting a raise means walking a sarcastic fairy cat, finding love requires fending off a peach blossom demon for him, and even wanting to be prettier means cooking a 'spicy-enough-to-make-immortals-cry' Meng Po Soup! As wishes pile up, Xiaoman uncovers Gu's secret: he's a hidden immortal in the city, and his system is a 'cost contract' for his heavenly tribulation—every wish granted means he takes a thunderbolt for her. When the final tribulation comes, Xiaoman must choose: use her last wish to save Gu, or say the truth she's been hiding—'I don't want to trade you for a wish'?
