When Lin Xiao sorts through her grandfather’s belongings, she finds an old letter written in 1979—her grandfather planned to meet his long-lost cousin Zhang Lei in Taiwan, but failed due to the era’s barriers, leaving him with lifelong regret. The grandfather’s death turns this “unfinished reunion” into Lin Xiao’s obsession. She uses AI to trace family history, accidentally unlocking the past concerns and regrets of cross-strait relatives.
