A small-time chef, wrongfully imprisoned, is taken into the residence of a stern young master who intends to dispose of her. Fascinated by her bet of “trading an egg fried rice meal for a chance at freedom”, she takes the challenge. The bowl of egg fried rice she serves carries her longing for her late mother and her unyielding spirit. This ordinary yet heartwarming dish breaks the young master’s icy defense.
