Chen Tianxiang, a senior official of Dali Temple, is tasked with investigating the “Jade Ember Case” in the capital—several lamp keepers have died mysteriously, each crime scene marked by an extinguished eternal lamp. When he tracks down Sun Qianxun, the daughter of a deceased lamp keeper, he discovers this seemingly fragile woman holds a shard of the ember jade and can read the ancient inscriptions on the eternal lamp. Forced to team up, they uncover a shocking secret: Chen’s late father was the chief judge of the original jade case, and Sun is the last heir of the eternal lamp guardians. As the truth unfolds, will they confront the power struggles of the court, or the true feelings they’ve hidden beneath the guise of “investigating the case”?
